Additional Info: The final pitching of different teams will be done in SOMTU Premises on December 9th, 2018. Participating teams are to present their ideas to judges with 6 minutes. The pitching event will be divided into two halves (Morning Half and Evening Half). All teams will be presenting their ideas in the morning half and only the winning teams from the morning half (2 from each room) will move ahead and present their ideas to the judging panel again. A team out of all the presenters of the second half will be chosen as the winner by the judging committee.

Dr. Atreya serves as a Chief Executive Officer at Banking Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal (BFIN). Dr. Atreya is also involved with Emerging Nepal, a Public Private Partnership investment company geared towards making equity investment in the infrastructural sector since August, 2073.Prior to joining Emerging Nepal Limited, Dr. Atreya holds over 30 years of professional experiences in various capacities in Nepal Rastra Bank, the central bank of Nepal. He served as Executive Director at Micro Credit Promotion and Supervision Department, where he was mainly responsible for supervising the micro finance institutions, financial intermediaries and assigned cooperatives authorized to do limited banking activities. He also served as National Project Director for implementing UNNATI - Access to Finance Project in collaboration with UNCDF and Government of Denmark. Under A2F, he was also responsible for MAP, conducting demand and supply side study of financial inclusion roadmap for Nepal. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Bank Limited, a commercial bank, for a period over three years. He did serve with UNDP projects in the Republic of Maldives, Marshall Islands and the Republic of Palau. His expertise includes in the areas of public private partnership, micro finance and developing strategic plan, financial literacy policy, financial sector reform, management and administration, research and training. He has presented number of papers in international conferences and seminars. He holds PhD degree in Public Management Reform from Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia, and MBA (India) and MPA (Nepal). Dr Atreya has over three dozens publications, both in national and international journals, and in daily Newspapers, to his credit.

He was recently named one of the Forbes 30 under 30 leader in the field of Energy and Engineering. He is also part of the Future Energy leader's program with the World Energy Council. He believes that radical transformation we seek in our societies needs to start from an individual level and our youth will have a major role to play in this transformation.

Sachet Manandhar is currently involved with Karkhana, an education company based in Nepal as the Chief Operating Officer. As a core team member of Karkhana, he is responsible for planning and executing business and financial strategies as Karkhana plans its growth outside Kathmandu and Nepal. He also facilitates the hands-on classes to middle school students via the BeeCreative program of Karkhana. He is also a member of the Global Shapers Kathmandu hub. The Global Shapers is a community, under the initiative of the World Economic Forum and has over 7000 active members across 400 city based hubs. He is currently leading the Shape Talk project, which brings together thought leaders to discuss current issues and developments in the community. An Electronics engineer by education, he was also active in the robotics movement, serving as the treasurer of the group Robotics Association of Nepal [RAN] from 2012 to 2015.

As Program Officer, Anita helps manage Nepal Communitere’s I-Cube business incubation program, working directly with entrepreneurs as a business coach. She studied Global Health and Child Development at Tufts University for her undergraduate degree and has since worked in the US public school system and later in the labour sector at the American Federation of Teachers. Bringing her mentoring, community building and programmatic experiences back to Nepal was a natural fit. Since her return, she has spent her time traveling Nepal as well as volunteering for Drishti, a citizen’s group working on improving Kathmandu’s air quality. She is interested in better understanding how more Nepalis can have improved access to finance and information through both traditional and non-traditional mechanisms.

Satyendra Khadgi is Joint Secretary of Fair Trade Group Nepal a consortium of fair trading organisation working with the aim to uplift the socio-economic status of underprivileged and marginalized producers of Nepal. He has extensive experience in marketing Fair Trade sustainable handicraft products in international market. He is a Managing Director of Kumbeshwar Trading Centre an export company exporting Fair Trade Nepali Handicraft products. Since 2015, he has been leading Nepal’s Finest team consisting of seven Fair Trade organisation to collectively develop sustainable handicraft products for European market and market it through Ambiente Trade Fair, Frankfurt, Germany – the most important Trade Fair for the home sector in Europe. He is also member of Kumbeshwar Technical School (KTS). KTS is organisation providing free primary education and vocational trainings to underprivileged people of Nepal. He had an instrumental role in successfully piloting WFTO Fair Trade Guarantee system at KTS, who were granted Fair Trade Guarantee certification in 2013 one of the first two in Nepal.

Hempal Shrestha is an Interdisciplinary Consulting Researcher with a background in information technology, intellectual property, and knowledge management. Prior to that, he was Expert- IT System Analyst with Social Security Fund (SSF), Government of Nepal, where he prepared the IT business process requirement of the SSF integrated management information system (SSFIMIS). Previously he worked at South Asia Partnership International for Bellanet International hosted at International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada coordinating the Open Development programs in Asia. He also facilitated the institutional learning platforms for the development partners of ICCO, The Netherlands in South Asia and Central Asia region. He headed the Information Management Department at the St. Xavier's College in Kathmandu, Nepal. He chaired the Research and Development Committee on the board of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation from 2015-2017. He is also the founding vice-chair of the Internet Society Nepal Chapter in 2009. He is the founding team member and legal delegate of the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Nepal Community in 2005. He is also the co-founder and director of the Nepal Entrepreneurs' Hub (NEHUB).

Over the period she has worked extensively to promote women entrepreneurship, break gender-based stereotypes and identify women as role models across rural districts in Nepal. Taking this learning forth, she worked to empower foreign domestic workers from across South East Asia and supported them to lead an independent life. She has also, served as a ‘Youth Advisor’ to the United Nation’s Youth Advisory Panel whereby she advocated for youth engagement, gender and social inclusion in UN’s country workplan. An MBA graduate from Singapore, she currently works to create an enabling environment for SMEs in partnership with Confederation of Nepalese Industries. She strives to create a society where anyone can transform their skills into economic opportunities regardless of their caste, race and gender.
